AdThwart is a useful Google Chrome extension that allows the user to block virtually anything that bothers him/her in a website, especially ads. Using the same filters already used by the famous AdBlock engine for Firefox, AdThwart brings to Google Chrome the protection every user needs while browsing the internet.
Considering that every single site out there contains ads, AdThwart comes as a nice addition to Google Chrome.
How to use AdThwart Extension for Google Chrome:
After installing AdThwart a little icon should show up inside your address bar. To start using it click the little devil icon and check “Enabled for this site” box, after reloading the page all the ads should disappear.
If the ads are not completely gone, AdThwart gives you the option to manually eliminate them. To do that click the icon again and this time choose “Easy create filter”. Then close the little pop-up find the annoying ad and click it to make it disappear.
Like AdBlock this google chrome extension also gives you the ability to choose from several filters to help you block the Ads. To do that go to the extension’s settings screen(in case you don’t know how: Just click on tools, select extensions, find AdThwart and finally click on “Options”).
Once there the first tab should already show a list of filters, choose them according to where you live and to what sort of sites you visit.
Also worth mentioning is the “General” tab from where you can disable the extension’s icon, or allow it to show youtube video ads again.
